Who is Hopewell Baptist Church?
We are a church who believes in the one true God, the creator of the Universe who governs all things according to the purpose of His will. We believe the Holy Bible is inspired by God and is infallible truth. We believe in the trinity, the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit and that salvation through Jesus Christ is only available through faith.
We have been an established place of worship for over 100 years in the Cherokee Falls community of Blacksburg, SC.

JD Wilson
PASTOR
Pastor JD came to Hopewell in April 2024. He has been in the ministry since January 2012. He has an Associate In Religious Studies from the Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Andersonville Theological Seminary and is completing his Masters of Ministry currently with Covington Theological Seminary. He is married to the love of his life, Hope and they have three children, Trey, Zayden and Asher. Pastor JD states “I am excited about leading Hopewell Baptist Church to make disciples in Blacksburg SC and beyond.”

Angie Moss
Ministry Assistant
Angie serves as our full time ministry assistant at Hopewell Baptist Church. Before becoming the full time assistant she served the church part time while also working as a teacher’s assistant. She has served as Hopewell’s Ministry Assistant for 39 years. She is married to her husband Tony and has two daughters and 3 grandsons.
Ben McCall
Interim Music Minister
Ben has been serving as a volunteer interim Minister of Music for the last year. He has been a member of Hopewell Baptist Church for over 20 years where he has served in many capacities including but not limited to deacon, financial committee and a dedicated member of the choir.
